Resumo

Thiosemicarbazone derivatives have been studied due to their biological activities, as antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, and antiprotozoal1·2. Compounds were synthesized with equimolecular amounts of reagents and accompanied by TLC (Fig.1 ). Three new compounds were synthetized: compound Ju-840 (MP 205-206 °C, Yield 73%), compound Ju-852 (MP 213-214°C, Yield 90 %), and compound Ju-882 (MP 189-190 °C, Yield 99,8 %). Given the high bacterial/fungal resistance to known antibiotics in hospital environment, the need has arisen to find new and more effective drugs. Towards this objective, compounds were assessed for their antimicrobial activity against clinical relevant microorganisms (Table 1 ). Thiosemicarbazide derivatives were active against Gram-positive bacteria and yeast, except for compound Ju-852, which was active only for yeast.
