Slow pyrolysis conditions applied to several types of lignocellulosic materials, industrial and domestic wastes- A review

This paper describes two groups of samples, Group I - Lignocellulosics and Group II - Industrial and Domestics Wastes, studied upon slow pyrolysis conditions by Romeiro's research group (Figure 1 ). Group I include agricultural, forest and aquatic biomasses and the Group II include sludges, industrial blends, urban wastes, health wastes and electronic wastes. These materials were submitted to slow pyrolysis at the temperature of 400 °C, under a N2 atmosphere during two hours. The products obtained were oil, char, gas and an aqueous fraction. The characterizations of the products were achieved using several analytical methods to stablish some of their chemical and physicochemical properties. Here, we focus the yields and calorific values to evaluate the possibility of the applicability of the oil and char. More than forty raw materials were analyzed by these slow pyrolysis conditions.
