The application of Remote Sensing (SR) for monitoring wa-ter resources can be essential for assessing water quality. The-refore, this study aimed to implement SR techniques to mo-nitor the assessment of water quality at the Salto Santiago Hydroelectric Power Plant - PR. For these purposes, Sentinel-2 images and their respective bands 2, 3, 4, and 8 were applied. The K-means algorithm was used to classify the wa-ter mass. Later, an analysis of the reflectance in the classes was created to assess the water quality in this reservoir. Areas were identified in the reservoir stretch with responses above the expected reflectance values for RGB channel bands and the near-infrared. These high reflectance levels occur, possi-bly due to the presence of sediments and chlorophyte algae. The SR can be used to monitor water quality in Brazilian aquatic ecosystems.
