The III Brazilian Symposium on Taphonomy is an event that brings together researchers and students of Taphonomy to discuss advances, challenges, and applications in Paleontology. The third edition of the symposium takes place from August 13–15, 2025, with morning and afternoon sessions covering the following topics: Micropaleontology, Palynology and Paleobotany; Invertebrates, Vertebrates and Ichnofossils; Taphonomy in Quaternary studies; Actualistic Taphonomy and Taphonomy applied to Archaeology; Taphonomic frontiers; and a special session on Conservation Paleobiology.
We highlight that this is the first time the event is being held in the State of São Paulo, bringing together prominent São Paulo-based institutions and researchers such as UNICAMP (event leader), UNESP, and UFSCar, as well as other prestigious institutions in Brazilian Paleontology, like UFRGS, as part of the organizing committee. In doing so, we aim to continue the history of this event, honoring it as the beginning of a tradition and leaving its mark in the State of São Paulo.
