USING OF ACTIVE METHODOLOGIES IN UNDERGRADUATE BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES IMPROVES LEARNING IN PHYSIOLOGY CLASS

Teaching physiology presents numerous challenges. The main issues identified are the complexity of the discipline-specific terminology, the abundance and need to integrate a lot of information, and the application of theories in practical contexts. In this scenario, the need to incorporate active methodologies into teaching practice becomes evident and essential, using effective pedagogical approaches to improve students` assimilation in the teaching of Physiology. Strategies such as the preparation of support materials, mental and conceptual maps, flipped classes, educational products and experimental practices in the laboratory are good strategies to bring students closer to the study of the functions of living organisms.
