TREATMENT WITH CONDITIONED MEDIUM FROM TENOCYTES PRIMARY CELL CULTURES ACCELERATES TENDON RECOVERY IN TOTAL CALCANEAL TENDON INJURY MODEL

Tendon injuries are responsible for a crescent number of people retirement around the world. Conventional treatments for tendinopathies are ineffective and most clinical interventions do not provide adequate recovery leaving these tissues more likely to suffer reinjures. Recently, cell-based therapies have been shown to be effective for the treatment in connective tissue injuries, such as tendons. It is already evidenced that tenocytes present significant participation on tendon repair after tissue injury, these cells are responsible for maintenance of tissue repair during different phases of tendon recovery.
