Alzheimer`s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease whose course develops progressively and irreversibly. New therapeutic strategies are needed for the treatment of AD. Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) is a non-invasive, low-cost therapy that stimulates specific areas of the brain. Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) are promising molecules in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, due to their interaction with the blood-brain barrier, and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
