SMARTPHONE-BASED LABORATORY SIMULATION PROMOTES REMOTE LEARNING OF SKILLS IN CELL CULTURE TECHNIQUES: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL

Biology education is solidly grounded in experimentation developed in laboratories. However, the distance education spreading in the Brazilian educational system and remote learning impose by the pandemic create barriers to guaranteeing a high-quality and adequate learning experience in cell biology. Alternatives have been suggested, such as the use of virtual laboratories. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these educational tools in promoting conceptual learning and the acquisition of lab skills has yet to be confirmed, especially when the learning experience is vehiculated through a smartphone.
