PROTECTIVE EFFECTS OF EGG WHITE HYDROLISATE ON TARGET ORGANS IN HYPERTENSIVE RATS DOCA-SALT

Severe hypertension induced by the DOCA-Salt model affects target organs, such as the kidney and liver, essential to maintaining homeostasis, through increased oxidative stress and exacerbation of the inflammatory process that can lead to structural and functional changes in these organs. Therapeutic alternatives have been widely studied as adjuvants to pharmacological hypertension treatment. An Egg White Hydrolysate (EWH), with peptides with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antihypertensive properties, showed protection in SHR hypertension.
