PRO-APOPTOTIC ANTITUMORAL EFFECT OF NOVEL ACRIDINE-CORE NAPHTHOQUINONE COMPOUND AGAINST ORAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Incidence of oral cancer cases consists of an occurrence of 90% of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) which is characterized by aggressive tumoral progression, low overall 5-year survival rate and higher incidence in men. Synthetic substances with structures inspired in natural products is a promising approach in drug development and allow the association between several molecules to improve their biological activity. Examples of these are naphthoquinones and acridines.
