Postpubertal parental ethanol use affects the physical development and ovary of ethanol-naive offspring

The parental influence on descendants begins before conception, therefore, the parent`s lifestyle is a decisive factor in the offspring`s phenotypic alterations. Our group reported that postpubertal parental alcohol use impairs the developmental parameters of female and male offspring, although the action mechanisms are not clearly understood in females. Because of the increasing alcohol consumption in adolescence, parental ethanol use and the damage to the no exposed female offspring, such as the impact on organs susceptible to hormonal alterations, are pertinent for investigation.
