Laser speckle contrast imaging for evaluating fetoplacental microcirculation in a mouse model of preeclampsia

Preeclampsia (PE) is a multifactorial pregnancy syndrome characterized by arterial hypertension associated with microalbuminuria and multiple organ dysfunction. There are varying levels of uteroplacental dysfunction, such as impaired perfusion that limits oxygen and nutrient supply to the fetus, which can result in intrauterine fetal growth restriction. Therefore, investigating this condition is necessary, as techniques for evaluating fetoplacental circulation are limited, making studies on this topic scarce.
