Impact of leukemia on prostate morphophysiology study in wild-type and adiponectina knockout mice.

Precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) is the most common childhood cancer. Despite therapeutic advances, the incidence of childhood cancer has increased and leukemia is still the most common cause of cancer-related death. Adiponectin, a hormone produced by adipose tissue, in addition to having an anti-inflammatory role, also has important metabolic functions. Much is known about the impacts of Leukemia and its treatments on the testicles, but little is known about the impacts on the prostate. In this project, we will evaluate the impact of the progression of leukemia B on the prostatic tissue of KO animals for the adiponectin gene.
