Evaluation of the Silver Vanadate (AgVO3) effects on a blood vessels network using chorioallantoic membrane of chicken embryo (CAM)

Vanadium is a metal found in nature, in crude oil, oceanic waters, and soil. It is also found in living organisms such as fungi, lichens, and macroalgae. It has been attracting attention in the medical field due to the discovery of various biological activities. Its antimicrobial efficiency, which prevents biofilm formation, is widely known as an alternative to antibiotic resistance. Recently, its action has been demonstrated in different types of tumors (breast, prostate, lung, colon, thyroid). Alternatively to traditional methods of research on blood vessels, the chorioallantoic membrane of chicken embryos (CAM) has been used in different fields of the biological area. Due to its high vascularity, CAM is used to assess pro- and anti-angiogenic responses of different substances in tumor biology studies.
