The cannabinoid type 2 receptors (rCB2) activation seems to play a protective, antioxidant, antifibrotic, and anti-inflammatory role on different tissues, including the cardiac muscle. Although the number of discoveries on the cannabinoid system have been made in recent years, the effects of rCB2 activation on cardiac excitation-contraction coupling remain unclear.
