BIOMATERIAL BASED ON DECELLULARIZED PORCINE UTERINE TISSUE: A STRUCTURAL AND BIOMECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATION AIMING ARTIFICIAL GRAFTS RECONSTRUCTION

One of the main goals of regenerative medicine is to develop approaches for artificial tissue reconstruction and repair of lesions and severe injuries, mainly in tissues with low regenerative rates. The application of ECM-based biomaterials has shown great potential to rebuild tissues from scratch or be used to induce tissue repair and reorganization. Recently, decellularized reproductive tissues as ovary, uterus and even placenta have been used to generate biomaterial for innumerous application, not restricted to the reproduction field due to their enriched ECM and capacity to be modulated and applied for other tissues.
