Annexin A1 (AnxA1) is a Ca2+/phospholipid-binding protein that plays an important role in regulating inflammation and innate immunity. Ac2-26 is a biomimetic peptide derived from the AnxA1 N-terminal region responsible for the anti-inflammatory effects of protein. In Parkinson`s Disease (PD) the participation of AnxA1 was poorly explored in animal models, while human studies suggest a strong link between the protein and PD progression. However, little is known about the mechanisms of AnxA1 actions in PD.
