AN EXPERIENCE REPORT FROM THE XII NATIONAL BRAIN WEEK: EXPERIENCES WITH BASIC AND HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS IN THE AMAZON REGION

The Northern region plays a significant role in neuroscience in Brazil. However, expanding participation in this field is crucial, as there is a lack of high-quality scientific information accessible to the general public. To address this, the Academic League of Neuroscience and Behavior (LANeC-UFPA) actively engages in the National Brain Week (SNC) during the Brain Awareness Week. Their goal is to promote academic training, foster community interaction, and bridge the gap between academia and the public. To extend their impact, LANeC-UFPA has expanded beyond university students this year. They have involved elementary and high school students interested in participating in the Paraense Neuroscience Olympiad (OPNeuro), a competition sanctioned by the International Brain Bee. Including this audience aims to provide basic education students with the opportunity to explore new professional areas and nurture a fascination for neuroscientific knowledge.
