2,4-DICHLOROPHENOXYACETIC ACID (2,4-D) EXPOSURE DURING POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT MODULATES THE EFFECTS OF WESTERN DIET ON MICE PROSTATE

The Western diet (WD), abundant in saturated fats and simple carbohydrates, is associated with the development of reproductive disorders and increasing the likelihood of individuals developing prostate disease. Additionally, the massive use of herbicides, such as 2,4-D, may interfere with the hormonal system impacting reproductive health. The literature has evaluated the action of these factors separately; however, they coexist in the environment and could act as synergistic factors that can predispose to prostate diseases.
