Abstract

The article observes the dynamics in local information ecosystems from the perspective of mediatized journalistic practices and proximity communication (Correia, 2012; Camponez, 2012). It seeks to analyze the performance of two journalists on their personal Facebook pages in covering the floods that occurred in 2024 in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, seeking to understand how they structure narratives about climate change in the context of platformized journalism. It is observed how the practices of these actors represent a hybridization between the amateur and the professional (Flichy, 2016) and build counter-hegemonic narratives to traditional journalism (Soster, 2026).
