STATIC PROCESS OPERABILITY ANALYSIS THROUGH LIE ALGEBRA

Process operability is a rather recent topic, being a useful concept from the process design step through the control loop design step. This work proposes a technique to evaluate static operability of process systems through their Lie algebra, a concept not used in process system engineering by the PSE community. The application of this technique is demonstrated in a case study of an unstable reactor.
