The aim of this work was to develop and evaluate pullulan polymeric films containing pomegranate seed oil nanostructures for cutaneous application. In order to develop the polymeric films by the solvent casting method, pullulan (6%), sorbitol (6, 6.5 and 7%) and polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400) (1.5%) were added to pomegranate seed oil nanoemulsions or nanocapsules suspensions. The formulations were characterized for mean diameter, pH, zeta potential and polydispersion index, as the polymeric films were evaluated for weight, thickness, mean diameter recovery, tensile force, percent elongation and folding endurance. The results for nanostructures characterization and mechanical properties of the polymeric films are shown in table 1. All films showed suitable folding endurance. The 6.5% sorbitol concentration was found to be adequate, and it was selected for further studies. To conclude, the developed polymeric film is a potential pharmaceutical platform for cutaneous drug delivery.
