Abstract

The mesoporous silica MCM-41 as a nanocarrier for directing and controlling the drug delivery of drugs incorporated in the matrix has been a great study because it allows the drug to act on the target site and thus reducing the adverse effects of convention therapy as well as research. of new pharmacological actions for already established drugs, such as Tetracycline. The synthesis of MCM-41 mesoporous silica with ordered hexagonal structure and its functionalization with APTES occurred by the “template” method as described by Braz1. The tetracycline antibiotic was incorporated by contact time of 48 h using a mass ratio (1:1 - silica:drug). XRD revealed formation of an ordered hexagonal structure. FTIR exhibited typical vibrational spectra of MCM-41, functionalization with APTES and incorporation of tetracycline (Fig.1). Synthesis and functionalization were obtained and the tetracycline was incorporated. The material is a promising carrier for evaluating the anti-tumor action.
