If you've NEVER registered a DOI in your Lattes, check our tutorial!Civil construction has always faced challenges such as delays in construction, excessive costs and the classic lack of communication between teams. It is exactly at this point that the need arises to look for new tools to make everything more efficient. Within this scenario, 3D modeling software, especially the famous Building Information Modeling (BIM), comes in as a bet that can bring together several areas in one place, reduce failures and give a boost to the planning and execution of works. The work focuses on analyzing what actually changes when these technologies enter the scene in management, showing where they shine and where they still leave something to be desired. The research is based on the need to modernize the civil construction sector and the relevance that more efficient and sustainable practices assume today, especially because BIM still faces obstacles such as the high initial cost of implementation, the demand for professional training and the cultural resistance present in many organizations. To achieve the proposed results, the study was based on the experience lived in the internship and the observed environment, also bringing suggestions for solutions to the critical points identified. In this way, the research contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge by adopting the deductive method, using bibliographic and documentary review supported by experiences already consolidated in works of different sizes, which made it possible to base the analysis in a practical way and close to the reality of the sector.
