If you've NEVER registered a DOI in your Lattes, check our tutorial! This study aims to understand the extent to which the policies for distance education at the University of Brasília (UnB) are articulated with internal and external institutional evaluations, based on the institutional reports of the University of Brasília published in 2018 and 2023. To this end, a qualitative and exploratory research was carried out, based on a case study, in which a survey and documentary analysis were carried out based on content analysis. The results indicate that the institutional reports analyzed do not clearly show whether the actions and projects listed in the scope of distance education result from suggestions resulting from the institutional self-assessment process or recommendations from external evaluations. For future studies, it is suggested the joint analysis of the Institutional Report and other documents that are part of the evaluation process. It is proposed to carry out the study in other HEIs, with different administrative categories and academic organizations. It is noteworthy that the study seeks to contribute to the understanding of policies for Distance Education within the scope of the National System of Evaluation of Higher Education and the deepening of the debate about the articulation between the processes of institutional evaluation and the processes of planning and management of higher education institutions.
