Abstract

The growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) poses challenges to the electrical infrastructure of residential condominiums. This case study addresses the analysis and standardization of the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles (EVSEs) in a residential building, located in Teresina, Piauí. The objective was to develop a safe, efficient technical solution in compliance with the ABNT NBR 5410, NBR 17019 and NBR IEC 61851-1 standards, ensuring individualized consumption measurement. The methodology involved documentary and field survey, normative and technical feasibility analysis, and constructive standardization. The results revealed the need to correct oversized circuit breakers and the proposition of an exclusive circuit per unit, derived from the individual measurement framework. It is concluded that the proposed solution offers a replicable model for the adaptation of condominiums to electric mobility, highlighting the importance of inspection and regulatory compliance. Future studies on the impact of aggregate demand and recharge management systems are suggested.
