The method has a quantitative, explanatory approach, involves documentary research procedures, field research and case study. The sample is a private library, located in the south zone, in the city of Teresina, state of Piauí. Data were collected through technical visits, photographic records, measurement of physical parameters, site measurements and investigation of the type of lighting and the presence of anomalies. Data analysis focuses on determining whether or not the building could develop SED, through the arithmetic average of the scores (1 to 5) of the satisfaction levels of the verified parameters. The results found indicate that the library has sick building syndrome.
