Ethics Committee Declaration

The authors of papers involving research with human beings and animals must indicate, in the description of the methodological procedures, the protocols appropriate to the ethical standards of the committee responsible for human (institutional and national) and animal experimentation, with the approval number from CEP/CONEP and CEUA.

2. GUIDELINES FOR THE ELABORATION AND FORMATTING OF THE COMPLETE PAPER

Submission of Scientific Papers

The submission of papers for the 2nd CICS will be carried out exclusively in the format of a Complete Paper (scientific article). For the purpose of publication in the Event Proceedings, the file must be prepared using the official template of the 2nd CICS and submitted in PDF format through the Congress platform.

Papers must strictly follow the following formatting standards:

  • Title: centered, in Calibri font, size 14, bold. Below the title in Portuguese, the foreign language (English) version must appear in Calibri font, size 12, italicized.
  • Authors: right-aligned, in Calibri font, size 11, ordered according to the relevance of the contribution. Institutions must be identified by acronyms next to the name. Each author must have their academic credentials described in a footnote, including the highest degree obtained, institutional affiliation, and contact email.
  • Abstract: must contain a maximum of 250 words, written in Calibri font, size 10, followed by keywords (minimum of three and maximum of five, separated by periods). The inclusion of an abstract in a foreign language (English or Spanish) will also be mandatory.

3. Sections of the Paper

The article must compulsorily include the following sections, even with free titles:

  • INTRODUCTION: Presents the research topic, contextualizing its object of study, objectives, scientific and/or social relevance, as well as the justification for the investigation. It should contain the delimitation of the problem and, when applicable, a brief theoretical review that supports the study.
  • METHODOLOGY: Describes, clearly and objectively, the type of research, the technical procedures adopted (methods, data collection and analysis techniques), the universe or sample studied, the time, and the location of the investigation. It must allow for the reproducibility of the study. In theoretical studies, this description may be incorporated into the introduction.
  • RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Presents the data obtained in the research, in an organized manner (using tables, graphs, or charts, if necessary), and discusses them in light of the relevant scientific literature. It should articulate the analysis of the results with the objectives of the study and with the adopted theoretical framework.
  • FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Restates the objectives and summarizes the main findings of the work, highlighting its contributions and any limitations. It may suggest developments of the research or indicate paths for future investigations.
  • REFERENCES: Lists, in alphabetical order, all the works cited in the body of the text, following the standards of ABNT NBR 6023:2018. Only authors effectively referenced in the paper should be included.

Note: All section titles must be in uppercase letters, bold, without numbering or the use of colons.

4. General Formatting of the Body of the Paper

  • Page size: A4 (210 x 297 mm), in portrait orientation.
  • Length: minimum of 10 pages and maximum of 15 pages.
  • Margins: left and right: 3.0 cm; top and bottom: 2.5 cm.
  • Main font: Calibri, size 12, with 1.5 cm line spacing.
  • Alignment: justified, with page numbering in the bottom right corner starting from the first page.
  • Citations with more than three lines, footnotes, and figure/table captions must be in Calibri font, size 10, with single spacing.
  • Bibliographic references must be in Calibri font, size 12, with single spacing.
  • Tables and graphs must be inserted as objects or figures (copy and special paste), centered. Titles must be inserted at the top, clearly indicating the nature of the data and geographical and/or temporal scope. The data source is mandatory, even when the data is self-produced.
  • References must strictly follow the ABNT NBR 6023:2018 standard. Only documents effectively cited in the body of the text should be included in the list, ordered alphabetically. Supporting materials, such as dictionaries and style guides, should not be included.

5. Corrections and Adjustments to the Paper:

  • Correction of the paper file: eventually, the GT coordination may request modifications to the paper. The corrected paper, using the template, must be reposted on the platform in PDF format within the specified deadline and following the event schedule, otherwise it will not be presented or published in the PROCEEDINGS of the 2nd CICS.
  • Before submission, all papers must be carefully reviewed for Portuguese language standards and ABNT NBR 6023/2018 rules.

Note: Papers that do not use the template, as well as those that do not follow the standards specified in this call for papers, will not be published in the PROCEEDINGS of the 2nd CICS.

  • In-person Presentation: In this modality, the presenter must be in the indicated room at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time for advance testing of the presentation materials.
  • Remote/Hybrid Presentation: In this modality, using technological resources for videoconferencing, the access link to the GT will be provided in advance by the CICS organization. The paper's presenter must be in the (virtual) room of the referred GT at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time for advance testing of the presentation materials.

Ideal and Adverse Technical Conditions:

  • In the presentation, the presenter will be responsible for the material, structural, and contextual conditions that favor the development of their presentation.
  • It is recommended that a device such as a directional microphone or headphones be used in the presentation to minimize interference that may impair the process of emitting and receiving the auditory information of the presentation.
  • During the oral presentation, the PowerPoint (ppt) application should preferably be used, obligatorily using the template designated by the event, available on the 2nd CICS website.

Note: The files for the aforementioned presentation must be tested in advance.
