Submission Guidelines

Instructions for Abstract Submission 📝

  • The author responsible for presenting the Abstract must be registered by the abstract submission deadline.
  • Abstract submission is subject to prior registration for the event.
  • A maximum of 02 Abstracts per registration will be allowed.
  • Avoid submitting the same abstract more than once. If the system detects a duplicate submission, the abstract will be rejected.
  • A maximum of 7 (seven) authors per abstract is allowed.
  • At the time of submission, enter the details of all authors (full name, e-mail, institution) into the SYSTEM and also in the PDF file that will be attached, in the order of authorship.
  • The presentation will be in poster format.
  • During the poster presentations, which will last for 1 hour, the presence of one of the authors is mandatory (this can be any author of the abstract, provided they are registered to participate in the event).
  • Abstracts can be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, and may be presented in Portuguese.
  • The data must not have been previously published.
  • The data must be substantial, resulting from scientific experimentation. Authors must not divide the results of a single study into multiple abstracts with minimal information.
  • Literature reviews will not be accepted.
  • The abstract must cite quantitative data. Abstracts that simply state that the presented results will be discussed later will not be accepted.

Submitted abstracts must be categorized into one of the following Research Lines indicated below:

Formatting Rules

  • The abstract must be submitted in one of the following languages: Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
  • Limit of 250 words for the Scientific Text.
  • Tables and figures must not be included.
  • The Abstract must contain: Header (existing on the template page), Title, Author(s), Affiliation/Address of the Author(s), Abstract body (which must be a continuous text without divisions or paragraphs and must contain information regarding the introduction, objective, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion), A4 paper format with 1.15 line spacing, 3 cm top margin, and 2 cm bottom, left, and right margins.
  • The Title must be written in Times New Roman font, size 14, bold, centered, without a period at the end, containing a maximum of 90 characters, excluding spaces. Only the first letter of the title and proper nouns should be capitalized.
  • A maximum of 7 authors per abstract will be accepted. The authors' names must be written in font size 12, bold, separated by semicolons (;). The name of the presenting author must be underlined. Provide the full first name(s) of the author(s), abbreviating only the middle name(s).
  • Superscript numbers corresponding to institutions and addresses must be placed after the full name of the author (affiliations). Institution names and addresses must be written in font size 10, separated by semicolons.
  • The Scientific Text must be "justified" aligned, be in a single paragraph, and MUST NOT include indents, citations, or references. It must be typed in Times New Roman font, size 12.
  • At the end of the abstract and on a separate line, Keywords must be indicated, numbering from 3 to 5 and separated by semicolons.
  • After the Keywords, if applicable, it is recommended to indicate the Support given to the research project from which the work originated, mentioning the funding agency or funding body for the scholarship(s) and/or the project.

Review 🖋

Abstracts will be sent to the Technical-Scientific Committee for review, consideration, and decision-making. The Technical-Scientific Committee reserves the right to accept, request changes to, or reject the abstract in its final format.

Each submitted abstract will be evaluated considering the following criteria: Preliminarily, compliance with the abstract formatting rules will be evaluated, and afterwards, it will be evaluated regarding:

  • Scientific merit
  • Clarity
  • Relevance
  • Creativity and original content

Abstracts and presentations must not be commercial in nature, and authors should avoid using commercial product names. Authors should avoid association with companies, except when the presentation is held in a specific space and time designated for exhibiting/sponsoring companies.

Copyrights

It is important to highlight that by submitting your abstract for presentation at the event, you authorize the IV CBPC – BRAZILIAN CONGRESS ON MINIMAL PROCESSING AND POSTHARVEST OF FRUITS, FLOWERS AND VEGETABLES and the company Galoá to publish your authored work, granting them, free of charge and on a permanent basis, the copyrights and the right to use your image in photos. You declare that the assigned work is authored by you and that you therefore assume full responsibility for its content. You also authorize publication in any existing media and formats, including on the event website, on the Internet, as well as reproduction in other event publications, communication to the public, editing, re-editing or adaptation, and distribution.

Poster Guidelines

The posters to be presented during the event, referring to the accepted abstracts, as previously communicated by the Technical-Scientific Committee, must contain the following items: Introduction/Objective, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and References, according to the template below.
