Resumo

Apresentação/Introdução Climate change is exacerbating health inequities, with impacts on socially vulnerable populations. Structural socioeconomic inequalities intersect with high climate vulnerability, leading to a dual burden: greater exposure to environmental and climate hazards and fewer resources for adaptation, demanding, in front of this syndemic of climate hazards and structural inequities, new research tool. Objetivos To address critical gaps in climate change health research, we developed the CIDACS-Clima Plataform, an innovative open-access platform integrating standardized climate, environmental, and health data for Brazil (2000–present). Metodologia Databases are from diverse open-access sources as climate reanalysis, Earth Observation satellite-derived data products, and weather and air quality station observations. This large data portfolio will support the monitoring of extreme weather events (e.g., droughts, floods, heatwaves) and other environmental exposures (e.g., air quality, wildfires, green spaces, land cover changes), ensuring consistent data quality and spatio-temporal resolution across continental Brazil. Resultados The platform is designed to support research on the effects and impacts of extreme weather events, such as floods, drought, extreme temperature, pollution, landslides, due to climate change on public health, with a particular focus on socially vulnerable groups registered in the 100 Million Brazilian Cohort from Cidacs. It facilitates analyses of long-term and indirect effects of climate change on health outcomes and evaluates the role of social protection policies in mitigating these impacts. Conclusões/Considerações By providing a platform of high-quality and standardized information, the CIDACS-Clima platform aims to advance interdisciplinary research, inform public health interventions, and promote equitable climate adaptation strategies in the context of climate change.
