Resumo

In large-span bridges, it is crucial to assess the flutter phenomenon, which can cause them to collapse. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can be used to analyze this phenomenon using numerical methods. This study presents a CFD application to obtain the flutter coefficients in the cross-section of the Great Belt East Bridge (GBEB) under forced vibrations in bodies immersed in a fluid medium with Re 105. The 2D RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) approach and the k-ω SST turbulence model were used. OpenFOAM® was used to simulate the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The results were validated with studies available in the literature.
