The investigated thermal problem is composed of a two layers square physical domain with an internal thermally coupled interface between a solid and a fluid. The continuity, momentum and energy equations were discretized in space through the application of the Finite Volume Method (FVM) to achieve a steady state solution. An inhouse CUDA-C language code was built using the CUDA® platform, which allows for the use of a GPU in the solution of the problem. The results were compared to the outcomes from ANSYS Fluent® software. The CUDA® code resulted in processing speed ups ranging from 61.5 to 175.9 times faster than the commercial software.
