Resumo

Carbon black (CB) has many industrial applications, although its formation mechanisms still are difficult to model. This material is produced in high-temperature combustion environments, and flame spray pyrolysis is proposed as a method of carbon black nanoparticles production. Here, we studied how a three-equation model related to carbon black formation behaves in an FSP reactor, by manipulating one nuclei-related key parameter. Computational fluid dynamics is used as a tool to model the entire process. The ramification limiting parameter (?) affects CB’s kinetics and reactor temperature. Therefore, it can be adjusted experimentally to increase the model description of the process.
