DUST EMISSION FROM STOCKPILES USING CFD

This work present a CFD study of the airflow around stockpiles. Two different geometries for the computational domain around the piles were tested to reduce computational effort. A minor modification of the pile geometry was studied. An industrial scale stockpile and conveyor belt were modelled and the velocity profiles utilised as input for a semi-empirical equation to estimate dust emission from the standard stockpiling process.
