Abstract

Geopolymers have emerged as promising materials for applications beyond the construction sector,[1] particularly as supports for anchoring transition metals as well as heterogeneous catalysts in organic synthesis.[2,3] The interest in developing sustainable methods based on heterogeneous catalysts is related to their ability to be readily recovered from the reaction medium, with a potential to be recycled and reused instead of being disposed of as waste.[4] In this context, the present study investigates the catalytic performance of a geopolymer-supported Cu(II) salt (Cu@GeoPol) as heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of multifunctionalized triazoles 1 from α-diazo-β-acyloxy-γ-azido esters 2 through the one-pot 2,3-acyloxy migration/CuAAC process. To evaluate the feasibility of this underexplored[5] transformation under heterogeneous catalytic conditions, current efforts are focused on optimizing the reaction parameters, including catalyst loading, type of solvent, temperature, and reaction time.
