Abstract

This study investigates the one-step green synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) functionalized with taurine and β-alanine for agronomic applications. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) confirmed the presence of the organic coating while preserving the crystalline core with an inverse spinel structure. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrated stable organic incorporation, with mass losses during the second optimization stage of 9.61% for β-alanine-functionalized NPs and 11.52% for taurine-functionalized NPs. In biological assays using kale (Brassica oleracea) seedlings, the functionalized NPs significantly promoted plant growth. The β-alanine treatment exhibited the highest performance, achieving stem and root growth of 10.00 cm and 12.00 cm, respectively, compared with the control values of 7.50 cm and 7.00 cm. These findings demonstrate the high technological potential of the synthesized nanomaterial as an eco-efficient.
