Abstract

Metal-Organic Framework glasses (agMOFs) emerge as a novel class of glass that overcomes the poor processability of crystalline MOFs. Although rare earth (RE3+)-containing MOFs are widely studied for their optical and magnetic properties, no RE3+-doped agMOF has been reported to date. This study addresses this gap by synthesizing and characterizing several novel RE3+-doped (Eu3+, Sc3+ Yb3+/Er3+) zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), evaluating the impacts of doping on their thermal, optical, and structural properties to develop novel agMOFs:RE3+ matrices.
