Abstract

Silver(I) complexes incorporating 2-aminobenzoxazole and neocuproine ligands, as well as complexes containing 2-(2-Pyridyl)benzimidazole, were synthesized and structurally characterized by spectroscopic methods, including IR, Raman, NMR and UV–Vis spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that one complex exhibits a distorted trigonal-pyramidal coordination environment, with the silver(I) center coordinated by the neocuproine ligand in a bidentate mode and by 2-aminobenzoxazole in a monodentate fashion through its heterocyclic nitrogen atom. The obtained results highlight the influence of ligand properties on the structural features of Ag(I) complexes and provide insights into the development of new silver-based compounds with biological potential.
