Abstract

This study presents the synthesis and characterization of a new molybdenum (Mo)-based coordination complex with luminescent properties, developed for foliar application in crops. The compound was characterized using various spectroscopic and structural techniques, confirming its formation. In an experiment conducted in a greenhouse, the complex promoted higher nitrate reductase enzyme activity, increased foliar nitrogen content, and reduced electrolyte leakage, indicating greater efficiency in nitrogen assimilation and better cellular integrity compared to the control and sodium molybdate. The results demonstrate the potential of the new complex as a biostimulant, contributing to the physiological and nutritional performance of plants and representing a promising alternative to molybdenum fertilization.
