In this work, LIG (laser-induced graphene) electrodes were prepared on polyimide tapes using a CO₂ laser (λ = 10.3 µm). Electropolymerization of the redox-active dye methylene blue by cyclic voltammetry (CV) yielded polymethylene blue (PMB), an electroactive polymer, onto the LIG surface. The material was characterized by electron microscopy, spectroscopy, and electrochemical techniques. After optimization of the CV parameters, continuous bluish-purple films were obtained, and the influence of scan rate on film morphology was assessed. Detailed analyses of the CV profile and of the growth mechanism, as well as tests for the use of the LIG/PMB films as a sensing platform, are currently under investigation.
