Abstract

This work investigates photoactive systems based on meso-tetra(4-pyridyl)porphyrin (TPyP) associated with rhenium(I) complexes. The systems were characterized by UV–Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy to monitor spectral changes related to the interaction between the porphyrin and the metal units. Photoacoustic calorimetry and transient absorption spectroscopy were also used to evaluate the energetic and kinetic consequences of photoexcitation. The integrated analysis aims to understand how the coordination environment and the rhenium complex influence excited-state lifetimes, triplet-state formation, and possible charge- or energy-transfer pathways. This approach contributes to the understanding of photoinduced processes in porphyrin-based materials with potential applications in photocatalysis, photoelectrochemistry, and photodynamic processes.
