Phosphate glasses are attractive because of their low processing temperature and compositional versatility; however, their high hygroscopicity limits aqueous applications. In this context, B2O3 and Al2O3 were added to NaPO3-TiO2 composition to increase network connectivity and chemical durability [1], while TiO2 plays both structural and functional role [2]. Borophosphate glasses in the NaPO3-B2O3-TiO2-Al2O3 (NBTA) system varying TiO2 content from 5 to 30 mol% were obtained by melt-quenching and evaluated through UV–Vis absorption, EPR, DSC, XRD and Raman spectroscopy aiming to establish structure-property relationships in TiO2-containing borophosphate glasses. Future works consist of assessing NBTA potential for some applications, such as optical and photocatalytic activity.
