Abstract

Glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel production, has significant potencial for conversion into higher-value-added products through photocatalysis. In this work, the lead-free halide double perovskite Cs2AgBiCl6 was employed as a photocatalyst due to its semiconducting properties (optical band gap of 2,7 eV). The material was synthesizes by the precipitation method and caracterized by XRD and SEM. Photocatalytic experiments were carried out in an ethanolic medium under UV-vis irradiation (365 nm), and the reaction products were identified by GC-MS, highlighting the formation of 1,1 diethoxyethane. Preliminary EPR analyses revealed the formation of DMPOX (5,5 dimethyl-2-oxopyrroline-1-oxyl) characterized by an intense, well-resolved central triplet with a g-factor of 2,0156, a coupling constant (A) of 13 G, and an intensity ratio of 1:1:1.
