PERFIL MICROBIOLÓGICO DO COLOSTRO E DO LEITE DE ÉGUAS SUPLEMENTADAS COM LEVEDURA VIVA

Resumo

In spite of the low incidence of mastitis in mares, it is known that it can occur and that it is often not diagnosed. On the other hand, this project evaluated the supplementation with live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the diet of mares in the final third of gestation on the microbiological quality of colostrum and milk, through somatic cell counting and microbiological analysis. Sixteen pregnant mares were used, divided into two groups: 1) without supplementation, 2) supplementation of Actisaf 10g / animal. The design was completely randomized, with measures repeated over time. It is concluded that the supplementation with live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisae in the diet of mares in the final third of gestation does not alter the microbiological composition of colostrum and milk.
