Knowing the importance of colostrum and milk in foal development, this project evaluated the supplementation with live yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the diet of mares in the final third of gestation on the quality of colostrum and milk, through the evaluation of the composition. Sixteen pregnant mares were used, divided into two groups: 1) without supplementation, 2) supplementation of Actisaf 10g/animal. The design was completely randomized, with measures repeated over time. It is concluded that the supplementation with live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisae in the diet of mares in the final third of gestation does not alter the composition of colostrum and milk.
