Abstract

SrPt$_3$P was recently reported to exhibit superconductivity below $T_{¥rm c}=8.4$ K [1]. The superconductivity was suggested to be originated from an unconventional mechanism mediated by the strong electron-phonon coupling. In this work, we have succeeded in growing a single crystal of SrPt$_3$P for the first time, and have investigated the normal and superconducting properties by means of the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect and the electrical resistivity under magnetic fields. Several dHvA frequency branches with the frequencies up to $¥sim1$ kT were observed. It was clarified that the superconducting upper critical fields $H_{¥rm c2}$ for fields along $H¥parallel [001]$ and $H¥parallel [100]$ in the tetragonal structure are almost the same values of $H_{¥rm c2}¥sim4.8$ T.
