Abstract

We report the first study of resonant X-ray scattering experiments on a 5f-electron system UIr_{2}Ge_{2}. On the basis of bulk property measurements on single-crystal sample of UIr_{2}Ge_{2}, we have confirmed that the system exhibits a phase transition suggestive of antiferromagnetic ordering at 18.3 K. In order to identify the magnetic structure of this ordered state, we performed resonant X-ray scattering experiments at BL-11B of KEK PF using soft X-rays of 3.70-3.75 keV. In this presentation, we will present the details of our experiments and discuss the origin of this ordered structure.
