The objective of this paper is to evaluate the annual deforestation patterns derived from PRODES in four agrarian reform settlement projects in Amazonia through data mining techniques and landscape metrics for the identification of regions of land concentration in the period of 2000 To 2015. Results showed that land concentration is a reality representing more than 1400 km² of deforested areas in the studied regions. The main objectives of agrarian settlements are threatened by the advancement of middle and large rural producers who are progressively occupying the Amazon region for agricultural and large-scale livestock production. Methods that combine data mining and landscape ecology are effective in detecting patterns of deforestation that can be associated with land-use change agents in the region
