This study presents a study of the detection of heat sources between 2006 and November 2016 in the municipality of Rurópolis in the southwest of the state of Pará. In October 2016, it was classified as the third largest registry Of fires points. The data of fires points were downloaded from the ProArco website (INPE) and the analysis and quantification of the outbreaks and elaboration of the maps were done in the QGIS software, the table and the graph were made in MS Excel. The results showed a total value of 13,329 outbreaks in the analyzed period, highlighting the year 2015 with the highest number of outbreaks (4,737) recorded in relation to the other years, showing a 35.5% share. Regarding records of outbreaks and access roads to the municipality, it was detected that the highest values of recorded fires occurred near the roads, mainly in the distance of 500 meters (2,714 outbreaks). In the map of heat sources, an accumulation of heat sources was observed in the central region, where the access roads are located. With the study, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in the number of fires points occurred during the years, besides the correlation evidenced in the records of the outbreaks in certain places near the roads of the studied municipality.
