The main objective of this study was to compare the hot pixels detected by the AQUA, TERRA and GOES satellites in the Projeto de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Nova Baixa Verde located in the municipalities of Rio Branco and Senador Guiomard during the period from 2010 to 2015. In 2010, 82.60% (38) of the total sum of hot pixels detected by the satellites in the PDS occurred in part B and only 17.39% (8) were found in part A of the settlement project. Comparing the years 2010 and 2011, the percentage of hot pixels in the PDS fell to about 45.65% (21) in 2011. It can be observed that hot pixels were detected only in part B of the PDS in 2011. A significant reduction in hot pixels outbreaks also occurred in 2012, 2013, 2014 compared to 2010. This reduction in the number of hot pixels is due to the prohibition of the use of fire through Public Civil Action by the Federal and State Public Ministry. In the year 2015, 34 heat sources were registered in the PDS, a significant increase in relation to previous years. During this period, there were extensive accidental fires and forest fires in Acre. The year 2010 had a severe and prolonged drought in Acre, and the greatest number of hot pixels was dected in the PDS. However, the amount of hot pixels is considered to be very small when compared to the number of hot pixels in Rio Branco and Senador Guiomard.
